1st Semester Reflection
Semester 1 was a very good start to this digital art class. I feel that the quality of my work should improve. I don't feel like I put my best into everything that I did and I would like to expand my creativity this semester to make more fun and interesting projects. When I look at the assignment given, I don't tale it a step further or look into it more, instead I just did the assignment word for word until i finished it. This semester, I hope to take a step further into the project and to think about in a way I haven't before. I also feel that the amount of time to do an assignment was really good, even though on some projects I had to turn it in later than the deadline, which is what I would like to work on this semester. I also feel my formatting for my projects should improve so it looks more professional and neat.
Most of my projects last semester, I believe that for some projects I did push myself and my creativity, but on most of them I feel I could improve to challenge myself more and to look outside the box more. I didn't plan a lot of my projects and I usually built on them as I went on, and I feel if I plan more I could make better and more detailed projects. For most of my projects I don't feel I took very many risks or tried to go outside the box at all, so this semester I would like to try to try things even if it seems odd because it could turn out really cool. I also feel I could work on how I look at over people's projects and to try to see them as they did while making it. I could also try to use other people's projects to inspire me when doing my own projects. When looking at my own designs, I usually try and look for the negative things about my project instead of trying to see what I can do better on and what I can change for my future projects.
Last semester, participation was definitely the thing that I feel I did very well on. I always got to class on time, did the project that was assigned, and listened when I got feedback and improve on my skills in photoshop. The only thing that I would say I could do better in is what to do after I have finished an assignment. I sometimes go off topic and do things that isn't photoshop related, so this semester I hope to work on that and to keep working on photoshop when I am finished with an assignment. I also feel that I work very well independently and I have a sort of idea of how I am going to do my assignment.
Finally, I feel i could improve with all of the tools in photoshop and knowing how to use them and where. I also feel like i could work on how to use the computer more, since I don't have one at home and I would like my finished project to be the best it could be. I also feel like I need more confidence in myself when I am doing my work. I need to trust that my project is going to turn out good and not second guess myself when in the middle or just beginning my projects. Also, if I don't understand what the thing I am crating is about or don;t know how to use something, I should ask and familiarize myself with whatever I am doing so that I can feel more confident in my work.
This semester, I am going to work harder and use more of the creative side of my brain so that I could come up with better assignments than before. I am also going to improve on learning and understanding photoshop and all of the cool ways to do things for a project. I would like to do a project where we could create what people think the future would look like. We could create a town that we think the future would look like. I also liked doing projects such as the semester exam, where you have to make a project based on the situation provided.
